COMMUNITY PROJECT

Potter on the Move

A park for everyone, picnicking, pottering, playing and people

Our aim is to reinvent the community space and revitalise the local community through shared play, recreation, and relaxation where every member of the village is encouraged to feel part of something special.

The Parish Council are applying for a grant to improve our village's shared spaces. Thank you for your feedback and engagement to ensure our plans for the community space meet the changing needs of the village.

Successful bid for Upgrade of Play Park

The Parish Council Potterhanworth has successfully applied to the FCC Community Foundation for a project called "Potter on the Move - A play park for everyone"

The Board of Directors of FCC Communities Foundation have allocated a grant of up to £91,410.00 towards the financing of the project.

For the design of the new play park we took on board the recommendations and wishes of the villagers (see the results of the survey). With this project we want to reinvent community space and revitalize the village through play, recreation, and relaxation where residents of all ages are welcome. With the installation of new equipment for play, sport and quiet zone, i.e. with a new range of outdoor equipment for all ages we want to:

  1. contribute towards the overall health of residents
  2. help to prevent mental health issues and give support to those who struggle with loneliness and isolation
  3. create an excellent opportunity to meet neighbors and villagers
  4. provide accessibility for people with prams, dogs and wheelchairs
  5. contribute towards the social cohesion of the village
